SSC CGL English Preparation 2022: SSC is going to release the SSC CGL 2022 notification on 10th Sept 2022. Candidates who are preparing for the upcoming SSC exams should check out this article to prepare for English. 

Coming to the core, the weightage of English subjects (including both Tier 1 and Tier 2) is 250 marks out of the total 600. How To Prepare English For SSC CGL Exam :

By looking at the exam pattern for the English Section of the SSC CGL Exam, one can figure out that the candidates will have to solve a good number of questions within a limited amount of time and. Hence candidates must prepare very well for this section in order to ace SSC CGL Exam 2021. Candidates can follow the following tips to score well in this section:

1. Improve your vocabulary:

Candidates should focus on improving their vocabulary as it will help them in fetching marks in topics like antonyms and synonyms, cloze tests,s, etc. To improve vocabulary, candidates should read the newspaper on a daily basis and makes notes of the words that they do not know the meaning of. Candidates should note down the meaning of those words, their synonyms, antonyms, etc, and keep revising them.

2. Brush up your English Grammar:

Good command of English Grammar will help candidates score well in the exam. This will help candidates solve questions from topics like error detection, fill in the blanks, sentence correction, cloze test, etc. Candidates should brush up on the basic grammar rules related to topics such as Parts of Speech, Voice, Tenses, Narration, Subject Verb Agreement etc. Candidates should try and understand the concepts behind all the rules of English grammar.


3. Work on improving your Reading Skills:

To do this, candidates should develop reading skills and try to read from various resources and understand the logic behind each statement. This will also help candidates improve their reading speed which will again help them in solving Comprehension related questions.

4. Solve Past Year Papers:

Candidates should necessarily solve the previous year's questions and understand the questions as well as the answers. For the questions that you are not able to solve, candidates should note down those questions, and make notes on those questions and the topics to which those questions are related.

5. Practice as many Mock Tests as you can:

Candidates should attempt as many mock tests as possible to make a strategy so as to how they should attempt the paper to score the maximum within the given time. Attempting mock tests will be good practice for candidates. Candidates should also analyze the mock tests and note down their mistakes and rectify them.

 

6. Revise

Candidates should keep revising all the topics and be thorough with them
